Today, our focus is going to be on rising past the obstacles in our lives. As we go through life, there will always be something that stands between us and God. Maybe that "something" is anger.
In the culmination of our time together this series, we will discuss what it's like to live above this world, once we have broken through the clouds. When we trade the troubles of life for the joy of serving Christ, we gain a whole new perspective of the world around us. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Philippians 3:20: "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
James 1:19: "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger."
Mark 3:25: "And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand."
Matthew 16:24: "Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
Romans 8:28: "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
1 Timothy 6:6-7: "But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world."
Romans 12:19: "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'"
1 John 3:17: "But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?"
