Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." What do you do when you come to a roadblock? Do you turn around and go home, or do you look for a way around it? There will always be obstacles as we walk the Christian life, but we don't have to let them deter us. We can face them with courage. Each time we rise past adversity, we grow in our faith, and we bear witness to God's amazing power in our lives.
Write down 1 or 2 areas of your life that you face adversity in.

Faith-In-Action: Whenever adversity looms its ugly face and tries to take you down, how do you respond? Your response is what will determine how fast you can bounce forward from adversity. It's not what happens to you that matters. Instead, it's what you Choose to do with that negative experience. Let's create a proactive response to transforming pains into possibility. Write out one of your favorite's scripture or quote on five piece of paper that helps you deal adversity. Post the five pieces of paper in 5 different places: home, car, and work.

Sometimes, there may not be a way out. But that doesn't mean that we can't soar. In fact, our darkest days can even strengthen our faith in God. It is in these moments that we learn to place all our hope in Christ.

Last week we talked about what it truly means to "rise past" the things we face. We talked about how we must look beyond our present troubles and our past hurts in order to grow spiritually. Now we must dive deeper into how we can actually practice this in our own lives. After all, letting go of our burdens is far easier said than done. So how, then, should we approach them?
