Romans 12:12: "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." Hopelessness is one of the worst feelings there is. You might feel like you're falling further and further down a bottomless pit, with no way of ever getting out. When this happens, praising God might is the last thing you want to do. But we must realize that in the midst of our trials, He is our only hope. We must be patient, giving thanks for what we do have, and praying earnestly. And in time, we can rise above our hopelessness and start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope is a positive expectation that something good is going to happen to you because of God's great goodness. Hope is not a wishy-washy, vague, wait-and-see attitude, but an action we must choose to take on purpose each day. Hope and faith go hand in hand.
Hope also enables us to endure hardships and long waiting periods, and God uses these times to develop character and endurance in us. Hope dares us to believe! It thinks You know what? Things might just work out after all. It's the sometimes unexplainable, but always undeniable, feeling that today would be a bad day to give up
